ABOUT
This year's Symposium theme is “Raise Your Voice” to highlight the unique perspectives of young people across Chicago. For MAPSCorps’ 2022 Summer Asset Mapping and Advocacy program, we have more than 300 college and high school-aged participants - more than double the number of youth served in 2021. By the program's end, we will have paid more than $550K in youth wages - a welcome relief for many of the low-income families we serve. Our young people are partnering with fourteen community-based organizations to map more than 30,000 community assets across Chicago. Our curriculum teaches them how to collect and analyze community-asset and public health data, and create public policy proposals in response to the public health threats negatively impacting their respective communities.
